Perth Train Station
In 2006 Arcadia was engaged by engineers and designers of the Perth underground train station and tunnels to design, manufacture and install a bespoke Louvre screen which provided screening of equipment and plant, as well as providing acoustic absorption for noise transmission from operating trains. The $1.56 billion New MetroRail project by Leighton Contractors and Kumagai Gum joint venture included construction of 2 underground stations as well as underground railways.
The louvre system was made up from large acoustic baffle panels with an integrated aluminium screen to the face. Large Louvre panels were manufactured off site and installed via custom lifting equipment. The louvre screens also formed part of the smoke screening in the event of a fire. The total scope included over 1600m² which was fully designed, manufactured and installed by Arcadia on budget and on time.
