Fire & Smoke
A Natural Smoke and Heat Exhaust Ventilation System (NSHEVS) is a system of smoke management which utilises the natural effects of air buoyancy, stack effect and wind action to remove smoke from a building.
Buildings with high volatile content such as synthetic products (tyres, nylon, latex, chemicals), timber based products (wood, rubber, paper, cardboard,) and petroleum based products (oils, fuels, plastic, gasoline, grease, fat) can develop fires very rapidly and require effective exhaust systems to ensure:
- People can escape from the building on their own
- Effective firefighting is supported
- Rescue workers have more time to evacuate the building
- Financial loss significantly reduced by preventing smoke damage to the content, building fabric, and surrounding property
- Fire attacks on neighbouring buildings are prevented or delayed
Arcadia Fire and Smoke Ventilation tested and certified to AS 2427 and AS 2426. A well-designed fire ventilation system includes adequate inlet ventilation to complement the exhaust ventilation.
Huff® Operable Roof and Wall Louvre
The Huff® Operable Roof and Wall Louvre is Tested and Engineered to AS 2428.1,2,4 & 5. Where Fire Engineers and Designers are needing a guaranteed performance solution, this Fire Vent is the ultimate solution. The Huff® Fire Ventilator can be operated using a variety of pneumatic, electric fire rated control systems linked by a control box to Fire Indicator Panel systems. Whilst this is often used for automatic fire and smoke venting and heat and smoke exhaust, the Arcadia Huff® Louvre can be used as a Hybrid system to provide natural ventilation for occupancy comfort.

Strand® Roof Ventilators
Strand® is a high performing roof ventilator system that provides a solution for fire & smoke exhaust for industrial and commercial buildings.This system has been engineered and tested to Australian Standards AS 2428.1 and is designed for all regions of Australia including cyclonic areas. The Strand® Range is used on ridge and slope building roofs, and can be incorporated with customised fire and smoke systems including failsafe operable dampers operated using a variety of pneumatic, electric fire rated control systems linked by a control box to Fire Indicator Panel systems.

The Lotus® roof ventilator is a highly functional and fully tested Smoke and Heat release ventilator. The Lotus® incorporates Vent-lite Capping to provide diffused natural light inlet while maintaining weatherproofing and ventilation. Fully tested to AS2428 and AS2665, the Lotus® can be situated anywhere on a roof for immediate exhausting of smoke over hot spots because of its downslope design.
