Edmondson Commuter Carpark
Arcadia collaborated with AW Edwards, CCG Architects and artist Shane Smithers to design, manufacture and install a fascinating and functional facade feature for the Edmondson Park Commuter Carpark.
The East elevation of the car park has been integrated with Arcadia's proprietary Muse® Image Perforation, creating an eye-catching artistic feature whilst providing solar shading and privacy for the car park. The artistic imagery, ‘Ghost Tree’, has been designed by artist Shane Smithers, a Darug man of the Burraberongal clan. The imagery depicts a narrative about regeneration, old and new coming together and a better future.
The Western face of the carpark on the other hand has been integrated with Arcadia's Match® Grating systems, delivering an aesthetically appealing screening solution and high free area attributes for the carpark. Additionally, Match® has been manufactured from an aluminium modular system thus reducing onsite costs. In contrast with the the eastern face of the carpark, the artistic imagery of the western side acknowledges the loss of Cumberland.
