Spur® Single Stage

Overview

Arcadia Spur® Single stage Louvre systems are engineered louvre system tested to AS4740:2000 available in a variety of depths and diameters and are perfect for practical commercial and industrial applications. The Single Stage range are commonly used for applications where low levels of rain defence are required and medium to high levels of airflow are required for intake or extract air. There are a broad range of Louvre profiles available to meet project requirements for pressure drop and rain defence. This louvre range provides a moderate level of screening for mechanical plant and equipment.

The Spur ® EL1-100 is the most popular and economical Single Stage Fixed Louvre System and is ideal for inlet and exhaust ventilation in either modular panels or as a continuous application to enhance a commercial and industrial applications. The Spur® EL1-100 can be specified in either modular panels or as a continuous application to enhance a seamless, uninterrupted facade.

Using a Testified and Certified Louvre System

The Australian Standard AS4740 sets out the requirements of testing of louvre systems. This testing is conducted in a testing rig and provides industries standards for airflow performance and rain defence. An untested and uncertified louvre system can result in poor airflow performance and impact on personnel wellbeing. The Spur® Fixed Louvre Systems have been exhaustively tested and certified using Australian Standards AS 4740.

Airflow Performance

Louvre airflow performance is affected by a range of physical elements including the louvre blade configuration, the louvre depth, the quantity of passes (single, double, triple stages), the louvre blade shape and any protrusions that interfere with the free flow of the air or that cause turbulence. Increased air velocity may cause varying areas of turbulence and flow disturbance which affect the louvre performance.

Providing Rain Defence

Rain defence performance of a louvre is tested with a 13m/s constant velocity of wind perpendicular to the louvre face and 75mm/h simulated rain droplets infused into the airflow for a period of 30 to 60 minutes. Intake velocities are altered throughout the test from 0.5m/s to 3.5m/s. Water ingress is measured at the internal of the louvres to provide a louvre rain defence result.
