Simcoa Facility
Simcoa’s Silicon Production Facility and processing plant in Kemerton has recently undergone a $100 million Furnace Expansion. Arcadia was heavily involved to provide Roof ventilation for managing the heat loads and exhaust from within the Furnaces. The selected roof ventilator was the Strand® High Capacity HC system.
The throat width of the Strand® High Capacity (HC) located on the roofs ridge was 1.8m wide allowing adequate exhaust capacity to naturally ventilate the Simcoa Production Facility. Strand® Ventilators offered a specific natural ventilation solution to manage both the fumes & heat within the building.
Ventilators were preassembled to enable faster and safer installation onsite. This meant preassembling the 4.5m x 3.6m modules offsite and delivery them direct to site for crane unload from semitrailers. The ventilators can then be lifted directly into place and bolted off.
The complete Ventilation scheme by Arcadia considered inlet air, and ensured adequate exhaust using the natural elements which enables the building to be cooled using very little or no energy.
