Sino Iron Desalination & Workshops

The Sino Iron Desalination plant is producing 51 Gigalitres per annum and is located in Cyclonic Region in Pilbara Western Australia. Arcadia was engaged to supply a High Capacity Ridge Ventilator that could meet the stringent specifications and engineering requirements of this area. Ventilators were designed, manufactured using our in house engineering and design team who were able to provide a fully compliant design which would meet the requirements for both Ventilation and Cyclonic engineering.

Due to the heat loadings within the building, the project required a 4.5m Throat ventilator (the largest of the Strand® HC range). This was no challenge to Arcadia given our previous experience over 50 years in designing and installing large ventilators on projects across Australia.

Due to the large size of the ventilators, the ventilator was manufactured in component form and shipped directly to site for assembly at ground level prior to being crane lifted into position. This process increases safety by reducing time spent by construction teams working at heights. The project was delivered in full on time and the Ventilators were successfully craned into position.
